Dit jaar in mei ging er een historische staking door in het grootste universitair ziekenhuis in Europa: het Duitse Charité in Berlijn. Hierover hebben we uitgebreid bericht (zie witte woede internationaal) Ook de werknemers van het bedrijf in onderaanneming Charité Facility Management (CFM) gingen samen met het personeel van het ziekenhuis in staking voor het recht op een collectief loonakkoord dat nog steeds niet bestaat in CFM. Met de staking werd uiteindelijk afgedwongen dat de werkgevers zich akkoord verklaarden om aan tafel te zitten voor het afsluiten van het allereerste collectief loonakkoord in het bedrijf.Na 3 maanden van onderhandelingen is er niet veel uit de bus gekomen. Het voorstel van de werkgevers is te belachelijk om te vernoemen omwille van het feit dat niet alle personeelsgroepen van CFM in het akkoord vervat zitten en voor de meeste werknemers de lamentabele arbeidsvoorwaarden amper of niet wijzigen. Gevolg: 98,6 % van de werknemers stemden voor staking die ingaat vanaf vandaag, maandag 12 september.

Dear colleagues,
We have heard through the comrades of the Sozialistische Alternative (SAV) in Germany, that you have gone on strike in order to win a collective bargaining agreement and fair wages.
We want to express our deepest solidarity for your struggle, which we regard as a very important step in the struggle against lowering wages and deteriorating working conditions imposed by capitalist privatisation politics.
We are convinced that the privatisation of parts or the whole of the health care sector does not bring about any improvement for the patients or the workers. It is one of a whole range of public services, including public transport, energy, water and all social services, that cannot be run on capitalism’s drive for profits without leading to worsening conditions for the working class.
We sincerely hope that you will reach your aims and push through the fulfilment of your demands. We are enraged to hear that in 2011 a full-time job in the largest European university hospital does not pay a wage that would even cover the basic demands of daily life.
A success in your struggle would be a great example for workers around the world to fight privatisation and precarious working conditions. Also, a successful struggle might impose political pressure on the Berlin government to reintegrate the CFM into the Charité, thus limiting the attractiveness of outsourcing.
We will spread the information on your strike hoping to support your struggle further. It is a common struggle that we lead. A struggle for one is a struggle for all.

Bei der Charité droht ein unbefristeter Streik der Service-Kräfte. In den nächsten Tagen sei damit zu rechnen, dass die Maßnahmen beginnen, sagte Verdi. Die Arbeitgeber müssten endlich ein verhandlungsfähiges Ergebnis mit Verbesserungen für alle 1800 Beschäftigten der Tochtergesellschaft Charité Facility Management vorlegen. Sie kümmert sich etwa um Küchen und Patientenverpflegung, Krankentransporte und Reinigung. Bei einer Urabstimmung hatten bis Mittwoch 98,6 Prozent für einen Arbeitskampf gestimmt.
